How Anchor Counselling Helps

Anchor Counselling works in partnership with Hammersmith and Fulham Foodbank. We provide foodbank clients free confidential counselling sessions with trained and experienced therapists. Our aim is to offer support that will help foodbank clients feel better, improve resilience, and begin to get back on their feet again.

If you are a client who uses Hammersmith and Fulham Foodbank and would like to arrange a counselling appointment (or ask on behalf of someone you know who uses the foodbank), you can either speak ask one of the volunteers there to put your name forward, or send an email to [email protected] including your name, address, phone number and the reference ‘HFF.’ Anchor Counselling will contact you back within one working day. You can also leave a message by phoning 020 8867 7660.

Here are some of the comments from foodbank clients who have used Anchor’s counselling service:

“I can’t fault the service at all, when you get people like yourselves it makes you feel better, never judged…. A pleasure to use the service” - Foodbank Counselling Client

“Yes, I found the counselling sessions helpful.  I had confidence in my therapist and would recommend the Foodbank extends the service to more people.   I would like to continue with counselling.”  - Foodbank Counselling Client

“Anchor staff are supportive and approachable, and it is really important that clients can see them on the day as many wouldn’t phone for help” - CAB Advisor
